"A celebration of queer indigeneity and community, annually hosted by the Queer Indigenous Studies class. We bring several speakers who present on elements of sexuality and gender from a Native perspectives". The Queer Indigenous Gathering is a campus-sponsored event put on by a class of students and supported by many other organizations, for which I have had the pleasure of designing their advert materials for two consecutive years. This year, they received the permission of photographer RM Young to utilize his work on hoop dancer Ty Defoe, who unfortunately could not attend the Gathering. Similar to last year's design, I focused on the visual consistency and typography of the flyer layout built around the artist's work.
